This was taken on one of our many mini-holidays in England. We went to Devon for the August long weekend in 2007, long before Canada was even an idea in our minds. The weather was completely untypical UK weather. It was warm and sunny and cloudless. We had perfect food, we went canoeing and we stayed in the coolest little condo in the village.
Sigh! Good times.
Last year this time I was just about 8 weeks pregnant, living in Santiago, Chile. This was taken on the drive to Olmue, which is the closet town to the Parque Nacional La Campana, where we camped for a night. I was the one who got the fire going that night, thank you very much. The park was also home to some of the most gigantic spiders I have ever seen although they are supposedly harmless.
This weeks theme (best picture this time last year) is a lot of fun because my memories of Chile are kind of poisoned by the general tiredness and mild nausea of the first trimester. Looking at all the pictures of the stuff we did, its clear that we did do a lot of fun things and it wasn’t all smoky bars and bland food. (You would think a country named Chile would have better food, but it doesn’t. Take it from me). It does have spectacular scenery and landscapes. If you’re into camping, hiking, horse riding etc, etc then its the perfect place to go.
This week’s challenge is to use the camera phone. This is a picture of a paper toy I have stuck to my cubicle wall. I don’t like the quality of the image very much. The Nokia E71 has a crappy camera.
Ro and I sold our camera so now its truly – the best camera is the one you have – my phone camera.
So about a year and half ago I quit smoking for real – like cold turkey, not even any social smoking. I miss it terribly especially when someone on Mad Men lights up, but at the same time the stale smell of cigarette smoke is one of the most repulsive smells in the world. Basically – the lighter is not mine, but I still asked to keep it.

My favourite season
I took this picture in Vermont, last weekend. Technically I should have taken this AFTER the theme was set, but whatever!
Fall/Autumn is my favorite season & it sucks that it’s followed by winter – my LEAST favorite season. The Girl & I have decided to make it an annual ritual to do a “Fall Foliage Admiration Road Trip” on every Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend.
I feel like a holiday and this picture of TG always makes me feel like I’m on one.
